Technical Indicators
EMA Crossover
Exponential Moving Average (EMA) Crossover identifies trend shifts by comparing two EMAs of different periods. A bullish signal occurs when the faster EMA crosses above the slower EMA; a bearish signal when it crosses below.
Bollinger Bands
Bollinger Bands consist of a moving average (typically SMA) with bands above and below, set by standard deviations. They show volatility and potential overbought/oversold conditions.
RSI (Relative Strength Index)
RSI measures the speed and change of price movements on a scale of 0 to 100. Readings above 70 are often overbought, while readings below 30 are oversold.
MACD
MACD shows the relationship between two EMAs (typically 12 and 26 periods) along with a signal line to detect momentum shifts and crossovers.
Stochastic Oscillator
Measures the level of the close relative to the range over a set period. Readings above 80 are overbought; below 20 are oversold.
ADX
ADX measures trend strength on a scale of 0 to 100. A strong trend typically has an ADX above 25.
Parabolic SAR
Parabolic SAR plots points above/below price to indicate potential trend direction and reversal points.
ATR
ATR measures market volatility by analyzing the range between high and low prices over a period.
Ichimoku Cloud
Ichimoku Cloud defines support/resistance, trend direction, and momentum using five components and a "cloud" visual.
VWAP
VWAP represents the average price weighted by volume, providing an institutional benchmark for intraday trading.
